Books That Breathe
Between The Lines

"Cocoa Bean, penned by the talented duo Harper Fulton and Carrie Fulton, stands out as one of the most delightful children's books I've encountered in quite some time."

With wonder,

I'm Carrie

I write stories. I raise daughters. And I’m learning—again—to wonder.

Recently, my daughter and I read The Secret Garden, and it ushered me into a quiet renaissance of my own. I’m rediscovering simple wonder: the grit of soil in my palm, the sharp-green scent of wind-stirred leaves, the soft flicker of the candle at my desk, the chorus of my children’s laughter and whispered secrets. I’m slowing down in all the ways that matter, so I can better notice what actually matters.

This season of awakening breathes through everything I write.

My work grows from a deep belief that words can rouse what’s dormant in us. The most powerful stories don’t explain life—they make us feel it again. They coax us to notice what we’ve stopped seeing, to question what we’ve accepted as ordinary, to look twice at a world we thought we already knew.

Whether I’m crafting tales that spark young imaginations or weaving ancient truths into modern allegory, I’m chasing the same moment: when a reader pauses, breathes deeper, and sees with cleared eyes. When words don’t just inform—they transform. When stories don’t just entertain—they awaken.

From my micro-homestead in Northwest Montana, I write across genres, but each story shares a single thread: an invitation back to wonder. When I’m not chasing sentences, I’m chasing chickens, reading aloud with my daughters, or hiking mountain trails where the best ideas arrive in silence—and where I’m learning, slowly and again, to simply be present.

I believe every meaningful story—whether whispered at bedtime or pondered in solitude—holds the power to reshape what we call sacred.

Hey there!

“The most powerful stories don’t explain life—
they make us feel it again.”

Literary Influences & Storytelling Traditions

From Jane Austen's character insights to Malcolm Gladwell's ability to transform complex ideas into compelling narratives, I'm drawn to work that connects deeply while appearing effortless.

Cross-Disciplinary Thinking

My most innovative solutions emerge from unexpected intersections. Whether it's applying theatrical story structure to a business presentation or utilizing editorial techniques to clarify brand messaging, I'm fascinated by the creative possibilities that emerge when disciplines overlap.

Inner Landscapes & Natural Wisdom

The landscapes we carry within us shape the stories we tell. I'm drawn to the profound connection between our inner world and the natural environment—how forests can teach us about deep-rooted storytelling and how the patterns of nature often mirror our most authentic narratives. I have found that the most compelling stories emerge when we allow our natural intuition to guide our strategic thinking. Like a forest that appears different with each visit, I believe our best work emerges when we honor both structured craft and wild creativity.
